عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ بُنِيَ الإِسْلاَمُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالْحَجِّ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles): 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam). 2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly. 3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) . 4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca) 5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

ইবনু উমর (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম ইরশাদ করেন, ইসলামের ভিত্তি পাঁচটি। ১। আল্লাহ্ ছাড়া ইলাহ্ নেই এবং নিশ্চয় মুহাম্মদ আল্লাহ্‌র রাসূল-এ কথার সাক্ষ্য দান। ২। সালাত (নামায/নামাজ) কায়েম করা ৩। যাকাত দেওয়া ৪। হাজ্জ (হজ্জ) করা এবং ৫। রামাদান এর সিয়াম পালন করা।

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ الإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسَبْعُونَ أَوْ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً فَأَفْضَلُهَا قَوْلُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَدْنَاهَا إِمَاطَةُ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the, removal of what is injurious from the path: and modesty is the branch of faith.

আবূ হুরায়রা (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণনা করেন, রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ঈমানের শাখা সত্তরটিরও কিছু বেশি। অথবা ষাটটিরও কিছু বেশি। এর সর্বোচ্চ শাখা হচ্ছে “আল্লাহ ব্যাতিত ইলাহ নেই” এ কথা স্বীকার করা, আর এর সর্বনিম্ন শাখা হচ্ছে- রাস্তা থেকে কষ্টদায়ক বস্তু অপসারণ করা। আর লজ্জা ঈমানের বিশিষ্ট একটি শাখা।

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term "Haya" covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith."

আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত। নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ঈমানের ষাটেরও অধিক শাখা আছে। আর লজ্জা হচ্ছে ঈমানের একটি শাখা।
